Clothing Bank project

‘Wastenot Recycling’ is a Christian social purpose organisation with the following aims:

  1. To provide personal development and first step work opportunities for long term unemployed people or those with low skill levels seeking to enter the work place.
  2. To generate additional income for our clothing bank partners (schools, charities, churches clubs etc…)
  3. To reduce the waste of unwanted clothing.
  4. To increase textile reuse and recycling through trade thus creating sustainable employment.

Clothing Banks

We are offering organisations the opportunity to have a textile recycle bank at their premises. By making use of the scheme you will be contributing to a less wasteful society while at the same time raising funds for your group.

The recycle banks are provided free of charge and will be emptied on a regular basis. They are virtually vandal proof being metal in construction and measure 5ftx5ftx6ft high and are ideal for outside locations. We also have access to animal themed banks that are ideal for schools to use as part of their education programme. The clothing banks are emptied on a regular basis and can take clothes, shoes, belts, bags and soft toys.

The recycle banks are a small but very practical way to demonstrate ‘wise stewardship’ of the things we no longer need and to be thoughtful in their disposal.

Income for your group

We will contribute 25% of the income we raise from the sale of the collected clothes to your organisation. Depending on how well the scheme is promoted and taken up by members and others this could amount to anything up to £500 or more per annum for your group.

Why a clothing bank

  • By locating a clothing bank at your premises you will be contributing to the recycle and reuse agenda.
  • Your users and members will be encouraged to become more involved in recycling and reuse.
  • It shows that you are committed to recycling and reuse.
  • It will generate extra funds for your school / church / organisation.
  • You will help unemployed people gain skills, grow in confidence and self-esteem and get a job!
